Dear colleagues, dear friends,
Given my upcoming retirement, you may have been thinking of contributing to a gift to me. That is very kind, I adore gifts. However, could I please tell you which gift would make me truly happy for this particular occasion!
When I have time, (and, believe it, I will have now much more...) I love to travel and to hike in high mountains. I have been hiking in the Himalayas (India, Nepal and Pakistan). These mountains are not only the highest in the world but also the most beautiful and the most challenging I have ever found.
Well, I am not asking you to sponsor my next trek in Asia! People living in these mountainous areas are the most hospitable I have ever met despite the fact that their living conditions are so precarious. Instead of receiving a magnificent gift for me from all of you, I have created for this occasion this fundraising page in support of Karuna-Shechen, a non-profit organisation founded by Matthieu Ricard.
By making a donation, you help to offer a better future to people in need in India, Nepal, and Tibet. Thanks to you, they will be able to benefit from essential health services, access to education, professional training, organic vegetable gardens, and much more...
Small actions make a better world! Thank you so much for supporting my project!
